VOIP

After some time, Luciana and I decided to give it a try to the "much-hyped" VOIP. The cheapest way to jump into the VOIP wagon is to download Skype.

This small application has the beauty to connect you to "regular" phones at a much lower rate that any US long distance carrier. The quality is great! (at least calling to Italy and Mexico). So, go ahead, download it and maybe with the money you save you can send us your donation. ;)

Arrivederci!

On Saturday our family left back to Italy, after 15 days of Italian cuisine and Italian cursing, Luciana and I are still getting used to the silence of our house. Thanks for Bert-O and his 6:00 AM barking...

I Don't See Dead People...

But I can barely see this screen...

Yes, I lost my glasses.

After 5 years of having them now they're gone, in a snap, without a warning (and without a spare set). I will usually misplace them in our house but this time I have this "gut-feeling" that this IS the "one".

Now I have to track my prescription back to Italy...

Benvenuti!

Right on schedule, Luciana's family arrived after their 8-hour flight, lots of "ciao" and lots of "bacci" where given...

Unfortunately, Alitalia lost my nephew's only luggage. Now he is patiencely waiting for its return from Kathmandu. After all, we'll be flipping our switches to the"Italian lifestyle" and a few extra pounds will be expected (and well received).

More Junk!

All these debris is what is left after our first round of "Spring cleaning". That huge-greasy fan was a pain to get it from the attic! But fortunately now is becoming a more useful and lighter item...soda cans! (thanks to recycling centers).
You might be soon drinking a soda from a can made from this fan...who knows. :)

Damn Dings!

It was expected...after almost 2 years of driving my Mini I got my first door ding! (why people is not careful when they open their car doors?!) Anyway, according to BMW's dealer I can take the car to the "Dent Wizard" for its repair...$150 for 30 "magical" minutes with the Wizard! Gee!

Much Respek!

With Star Wars episode 3 coming out soon to theaters, the Star Wars fever (or mania) is coming out of the closet again...well not exactly, you see, these fan sites have been roaming the web for a while, but with events like the release of the last part of Lucas' greatest story, fan sites are more susceptible to be fetch by Google.

Nothing wrong with that, "au contraire". I respect those dedicated fans. Fans are the ones who makes stories last...

With that in mind, I even found a fan site dedicated to Herbie!

Ellie's Black Eye

Today around 1:30 PM, Ellie got punched!

It has become a common practice for some "scum" in Baltimore to vandalize cars inside parking lots. What's wrong with this people?!

Anyway, cigarette lighter accessory gone, police report filled and insurance negotiation is undergoing. Sorry Jiho! :{

Frickin' Tree Roots!

A week ago I decided to take out the mower to start this year mowing season...new air filter, new spark plug, plus a whole of those extras the manufacturer always recommend to replace before you put this machine back to work.

Everything was working perfectly (doing the habitual zig-zags) until I hit a not so-big-but-big-enough-for-the-mower root...everything halted and silenced. like when a sci-fi character (or hero) is about to leap through time, you get the idea.

Well, this "time-travel" scenario cost me a new crankshaft (sp?) $120 if you wonder.

Oh...also my "Blower" got clogged, but that was repaired under warranty. :)
